This is something I resorted to a lot when I was a student.

…ut more effort and energy into my studies. I feed off of adrenaline and need something to live for. I find that in studying sometimes, when things don’t go well and hobbies or sports aren’t enough, even if it’s modules like economics or maths that I don’t like, because it motivates me more to do better. To prove myself.

This is something I resorted to a lot when I was a student. I always had something to do at Uni, and I weirdly felt a lot of motivation to push myself there when everything else went wrong.
